One lesson I have learned is people place more value in the every day common written grocery list than the do for the rest of professional and personal lives. Possibly one of the reason is what I call the “Osmosis Transfer Theory.” Stand next to a successful salesperson and you will instantly receive all of her or his skills through osmosis transfer so that you too can be a success. Another answer might be these people are engaged in the role of Captain Wing It be it their marketing or selling activities.
Most successful sales people be them mid size to small business owners or a member of a sales team understand the value of having a written action plan to improve sales as well as their lives. This plan support their efforts to work through the maze of sales in business. In some cases, the action plan is based upon the professional life wheel or in another cases aligned to certain performance appraisal instruments. What I know to be true, when I work my own sales plan, I have greater awareness and clarity as to what I need to do. By having written WAY SMART goals supports my behaviors and activities. The results not only include increase sales, but a more productive and balanced life.
An action plan to improve sales and life is truly not that hard to create if you want to be a successful salesperson. The real challenge is being committed to maintaining it so that you do increase sales and improve the personal aspects of your life.Share on Facebook
